Adventures Overland, a travel company, has recently announced its plan to carry forth with the ‘longest and most epic bus journey’; the Delhi to London bus will be the first-ever transportation service of its kind which enables passengers to hop-on/hop-off as befitting their requirements. The bus journey is set to begin in the country’s capital, New Delhi, and end within London, United Kingdom. Given the ongoing pandemic, an escapade of this kind offers travellers with an opportunity to explore some of the distinctive fineries amidst a list of countries widely recognised for their innate heritage, vistas, and traditions.
The tour is inclusive of 18 scintillating countries, whilst covering a grand total of 20,000 kilometres in 70 days. Inspired by the famed London-Calcutta bus service of April 1957, earlier covered by TheVibe, Adventures Overland seeks to surpass the former with its provisions of opulence, facilities, and undisputed liberty to join, and depart, from the journey from the countries it plans on engaging with. Where 1957 relished the presence of ‘Albert, the double-decker bus which initially made the renowned journey, the upcoming trip(s) scheduled for 2021 laces with the modernity of the times, coupled with enhancing the enthusiasm of passionate travellers wishing to bask in the hues of many lands.
The 18 countries meant to be covered includes: in Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UK. Tourists onboard are welcome to travel across the cities given the timeframe of the stops within each place; moreover, the historic cities of Samarkand, Tashkent, and Bukhara within Uzbekistan, alongside the city of pandas, Chengdu, have been particularly highlighted by the travel company. Parallel to these destinations, Brussels, Frankfurt, Prague, and Moscow are additionally being showcased.
The much-awaited journey from Delhi to London has been divided into four legs. The first leg of the journey will cover some of Asia’s most sought after tourism destinations; India, Myanmar and Thailand. Travellers are promised beauteous vistas of natures, paired with cultural experiences, and myriad spectacles. The second leg of the journey, in turn, covers China’s Sichuan and Xinjiang province which is widely visited to glimpse the Great Wall of China, the scorching Gobi Desert, and the Silk Route. Moving on, the tourists will embark onto Central Asia’s Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Lastly, the European nations of Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom will signal the end of the adventure.
The mode of travel itself will be a particularly customised, luxury bus meant to dictate comfort. Moreover, the trip is priced at INR 15 lakhs per person, whilst Adventures Overland has additionally stated it will cater to the vegetarian requirements of tourists, while local cuisines may inevitably be relished.
